We are Veterans

Image
On November 11th, we honored the Veteran's who have given up their life to serve our country. There is no greater Veteran than the other. They all shared the same purpose: to fight and defend our country. What an honor it is to meet and know people who have put their own ambitions aside to be of service to us. Just as these Veterans have fought for us, we who are Christians are called to be Veterans of Christ. We are now in the army of God and it is our responsibility to protect what God has given to us. Jesus said on three accounts (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23)?" “Take up your cross and follow Me”. This means, we should deny our self, willing to die in order to follow Jesus. Now, exactly what have Veteran's done? They have forsaken all and have promised to follow through with what they have trained for, even if it means death. As Christians, we need to let the things of the world go and follow Christ. In the army of God, we must train and be r

Common Sense

It amazes me just how much COMMON SENSE people DON'T HAVE !  I'm not trying to belittle them in anyway, but as I was thinking of things that individuals do, over and over again, wondering why they have the same result......yet never changing what they do. It's very interesting to me. But then again. I TOO have been in this SAME category, only its about different issues. So, here is what I've been thinking though.... Why is it that young people who drink and think partying is all fun, have had an experience in the past with a friend passing away BECAUSE of alcohol, yet THEY TOO continue down that same path?  Do they feel as if they are protected from the SAME THING happening to them and do they think that it is WISE for their friends to have to go THROUGH the SAME THING if it DID happen to them? Why is it that when I happen to go off my "diet", I eat EVERYTHING in sight, because I will just start "another diet" on Monday. And guess wh

I am REDEEMED!!!

As I was listening to "Positive, Encouraging, K-LOVE" the other day. I noticed the words to a few songs they played and was amazed at the way people think. They played a new song about some guy and his wife having heartaches in their life. It seemed to put the blame on themselves and they were going to do all they could do to be right with God. They are sorry for failing Him and if He could just give them what they would like in their life, they would do all they could to give back to Him. And then the next song I hear, it's about being Redeemed and not being the same person I use to be. Wow! What a total difference in these songs! And how much more inspiring is the one that talks about HOW I AM REDEEMED!  It made me start thinking how so many people blame God for the bad things that happen in their life, or blame themselves for not being "good enough", going to church enough, or whatever the reason. Let me free you up a little bit!!!! GOD IS LOV

What's the PURPOSE????

Image
Have you ever heard anyone say that or have said it yourself?  Usually that phrase is said because someone just gives up. It's not going the right way or there is a problem...so why continue? Do you know that EVERYDAY should be a day of purpose? Have you ever woke up and not had anything to do or planned out your day and it end up being spent doing nothing. How accomplished did that make you feel? As a stay-at-home wife, I have realized, I love to stay at home, however, I get more completed in the day if I had gone to work and had things to do all day? Why is that? Because I have not had a purpose. I have a ton of things to complete, I just don't seem to feel accomplished by the end of the day. I have asked God to help me be more organized and I make myself lists of what I need to do. And that has really helped me. But sometimes I make more of a list than I could actually get done in a day and still never feel accomplished. One day I realized that my days need to h
