A little bite is all it takes

Are you a bread lover? A chocolate lover? A candy lover? Have you noticed the more you age, the harder it is to lose those extra pounds? Have you ever been on a diet forcing yourself to eat more fruits & veggies and stay away from your favorite breads/carbs? You begin to lose a little weight and then you open the refrigerator and are tempted to eat just a "little bite of a bagel". After all, a little won't hurt!  So you eat the "little bite" and are really not satisfied so you go back and eat "another" little bite. But by the end of the day, you've eaten the whole bagel and possibly a couple more!  The next morning you jump on the scale, praying you didn't gain any weight..and whew! You didn't....but then weeks down the road, after continuing to eat foods that are unhealthy...those favorite jeans are filling a little snug. However, people can be oppressed by evil spirits and may not even realize they are. There are many different kinds of spirits and they each have their own trait! These are just a few that are mentioned! We need to be able to discern the spirits. Discerning spirits is the supernatural ability given by the Holy Spirit to perceive the source of a spiritual manifestation and determine whether it is of God, the flesh, or the devil.  His spirit bares witness with our spirit when something is or is not if God. DISCERNMENT

How do we discern spirits? Discern *To separate by the eye, or by the understanding.  Discernment *discerning; also, the power or faculty of the mind, by which it distinguishes one thing from another, as truth from falsehood. In First Corinthians 12:10, Paul refers to “distinguishing between spirits” (or “discerning of spirits” in the NKJV) – as a spiritual gift that God gives to believers in order to recognize lying spirits and to identify deceptive and erroneous doctrines. Because the Holy Spirt is on the inside of us, if you've received Jesus as your Lord, then we can tap into that and He will reveal to us what is of God and what is not of God! Many times you just may feel uncomfortable around certain people because they are not truthful in everything! Sometimes you may hear a preacher say something that doesn't sound "just right"!
