Make-up? or Application?

Women now have so many options when it comes to make-up & face creams.

The older we get, the more concerned you become with aging skin and ways to improve the appearance of wrinkles and age spots.

There’s many companies that advertise  brands of make-up and promise how young and beautiful your skin will appear, if you only try “their” make-up.

But in watching many hours of make-up tutorials, reviews of products, brushes, and applications...I’ve learned one thing….
It’s truly not about the brand of make-up you are using,  but how you are applying the make-up you have!

Just like applying make-up, we have to “apply” the Word of God correctly in our life, in order for it to work.

The “foundation” may be right in front of us, but in order to “build” on it, we must first apply it. We cannot see any results if we don’t apply the product!

Foundation is very important in using make-up. It keeps the other products such as eye-shadow, blush, etc) attached for better appearance and longer wear.

But how are you applying your foundation? Are you just slathering it on and rubbing it in...or taking the time to apply it with an application made exactly for that foundation?

Proverbs 23:12 says “Apply your mind to instruction & correction and your ears to words of knowledge”

Are you opening your Bible every day and pointing to a verse, hoping it’s the exact verse you will need that day? Or are you searching scriptures to find the verse that you need for that day?

Are you studying the Bible to learn more about what it means or just skimming over scriptures and only doing it because you know it’s the right thing to do?

Do you pray with a heart of thanksgiving and let God know how much you truly love Him or are you just praying when you need something from Him?

Women are always in hopes that the make-up they wear covers up the flaws they don’t like and make their skin appear beautiful and smooth. But the results of that are related to HOW the make-up is applied.

You can’t just slap on makeup and expect it to do the “trick” for the day! It’s a time consuming process...but we tend to spend more time with hair/make-up then we do with God.

We want to look beautiful on the outside, but all the while, we are crumbling on the inside because we are not taking the time to apply the Word of God in our life.

And let our own [people really] learn to apply themselves to good deeds (to honest labor and honorable employment), so that they may be able to meet necessary demands [a]whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives.  Titus 3:14

We MUST apply ourselves to the Word of God in order to live a fruitful life.

In doing this, we can attach the good to our life, like the fruits of the spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, meekness, & self-control.

Many time we don’t possess these things in our life, because of our relationship with the ONE that provides these things and end up depending on “people” to provide them. Guess what happens when we do that? We end up like a fruit-cake!!!

There is no person that can give you everything that you need but your heavenly Father God!

Let's make it our desire to be more sensitive to how we are applying the Word of God in our life. Make it a habit to pray and study the Word and put GOD FIRST in EVERYTHING!!!!

And when we begin to apply the Word correctly to our life, we can be a more fruitful, beautiful woman both on the inside and out!
