What will be your choice?

I just witnessed something I didn’t have to see my whole life.

I thought it strange to hear a little bird crying like it needed its mamma. I went over to look at the bird that was chirping very loudly. I am unaware of the bird families and what they do or don’t do but not long before I had seen a huge bird fly overhead. My mind went back to the time there was a little fawn and its mother had left it, but returned for it.

So, after taking my dog back in the house, I went again to check on the bird…after not hearing it chirp. When I found the place where the bird had laid, it was no longer there but replaced by a huge black snake. Oh! The thought that the little bird was crying for help and I was the only one that could help and I did not have a clue. Of course, there was nothing that I could possibly do, that I know of, had I known a snake had gotten it.

But it sure reminded me how Satan is like that snake. His ways are slick and he is always trying to make the lies he tells appealing to the flesh.  That’s all Satan knows how to do – the power of suggestion.

He’s like a television commercial…..you were not hungry for that chocolate covered ice-cream until you saw how creamy the ice-cream looked and you could almost taste the chocolate in your mouth by just looking at. You can take that power of suggestion and continue thinking about it and before long; you are off to the Dairy Queen.

That’s all Satan knows to do. He does the same thing over and over. He has no new tricks. And all he has to do is get you to believe his lies. And sometimes that is pretty easy.

Do you know Satan has ALREADY been defeated? Jesus has already conquered Him and the only place that Satan can get to is our mind. If we start to believe something he says, then we begin to have what he says.

The opposite is true with God. When we start to believe what God says about us then we can have that too – PRAISE THE LORD!!! 

Why is it so much easier to listen to the lies of Satan and follow those instead of following Christ? We are made up of three parts – spirit, soul, and body. We have a spirit, are led by our soul, but live in a body. Our spirit is what is what will go to Heaven when we pass away. Our soul is made up of our mind, will, and emotions and what ever we think…our body will obey and do. We don’t have to worry about our spirit BUT we must renew our mind (soul) to the Word of God everyday! YES! EVERYDAY! It’s like we cannot EVER just sit back and relax because if we do, Satan will have a hay day. You may think “oh, the devil isn’t bothering me today”, so you relax some more (What I mean by that is you don’t give God the time that He needs or that you need to be a success.) You are too busy playing on your phone or watching television. “There’s just not enough time”…yet, there’s ALWAYS time to do what you really want to do. 

Romans 12:2 says: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Some people don’t have a clue what the will of God is for their life, but its because they don’t  spend time with God and allow Him to tell them.

The truth of the matter is, when you play with the snake, you WILL be eaten. 

If you haven’t seen the news lately, I’m here to tell you that the end times are near and it’s not time to play with snakes.

It’s time to get in the Word and feed off the Word. When you are renewing your mind to the Word of God, then you don’t have time for any “snake” talk. You will learn to know and hear the voice of your Father God and no other voice will you hear.

When you know someone’s voice really well, in a crowd if you heard someone say your name, you would look for that person, because you knew their voice. But if you heard someone but didn’t recognize their voice, you wouldn’t look for any one.

We need to know the voice of God! We need to know who He is and what He has done for us and how much He loves us. If we don’t know, then we can’t tap into the benefits He has for us.

When you think of Satan, don’t think of this strong looking red thing. Just think of him as a defeated foe that can NOT HARM YOU! He can’t! He cannot do anything that we don’t allow him to. He has no power over us, just the power of suggestion and my goodness, if we just wouldn’t give in to that! 

AND WE DON’T HAVE TO! We GIVE NO PLACE to the DEVIL and HIS LIES AND HIS THOUGHTS! We just don’t do it! 

Going back to the image that I saw, if we let Satan, he can have us swallowed up and no one there to help. He can have us so entangled in his lies and web of lies that we think we can’t get out. 

BUT GUESS WHAT? You don’t have to stay in that pit with Satan and his mess. You have the choice to step-up and out and be different. Every day is a NEW DAY! And every day is a day to choose the right thing.

Choose your friends wisely! Your friends are the one who can help you up when you fall. GOOD FRIENDS aren’t  the ones who will want to drink, cuss, and party, those kind of friends won’t ever be there when the cops come. They are never the ones there to protect you and make sure that YOU don’t get in trouble.

Choose your church wisely! If you are not in a faith-filled, Bible-believing church, then ask God to show you where you need to go. Not all churches are the same. Some tickle your ears and give a great motivational message but if you don’t leave there changed, then you need more of a challenge. You need more of God! Motivational message don’t get you anywhere but to the next week service. You need to live EVERY DAY knowing your rights, as a believer,who you are IN CHRIST JESUS so you can stand up and be that person God has called you to be! 

Choose your life! Aren’t you tired of playing these silly games that have you going around the same mountain every day? Are you trying to change the outcome but continue to make the same mistake over and over? CHOOSE LIFE TODAY! 

Choose to do right and be right! God can help you! He didn’t just send His Son Jesus to die for you, so that you can be saved, and leave you hanging. There are things that you need to know to overcome and be victorious in this life. You HAVE TO! There’s so many pitfalls that Satan can come through and steal your patience, steal your joy, and steal your peace…BUT GOD! He is ALWAYS there to give you everything that you have need of! JUST LET HIM!!!

Choose to read the Word of God and choose to make Jesus Lord of your Life! CHOOSE TODAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE! I hope you choose Jesus!!! 

If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I ask you to say this prayer today! “Father in Heaven, I come before you today and believe with all of my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead. And I accept Jesus into my heart right now and I repent of sin. I renounce the past and pull it from its roots and begin a new. I receive my forgiveness. I receive the new birth, cleansed and washed in the Word and in the precious blood of Jesus. In Jesus’ name! AMEN!

Please let us know if you have prayed that prayer today. Because THIS IS YOUR DAY! It’s a NEW DAY FOR YOU and now you are on the journey to fulfill the plan of God for your life.

Just remember that when you get saved, it doesn’t make things easier, but you can have the peace of God and the joy of the Lord reigning in your life.
